The AABPS is a non-political, non-religious, and not-for-profit professional organization of volunteers.
The mission of the Association is to provide a world class forum for communication, discussion, collaboration, and exchange of knowledge and scientific ideas among academia, industry, hospitals, health insurance companies, pharmacies, government and other research institutions worldwide.
Type of Members:
Membership of the Association consists of “Student Member”, “General Members”, “Silver Members”, and “Gold Members”. All members are eligible to participate in the activities of the Association if they fully observe the rules and regulations of the Association.
Student Member ($15 per year):
A Student Member is an individual currently enrolled in an academic program who has an interest in the mission and goals of the Association. To qualify as a Student Member, the applicant must:
- Be a student in good standing at an US or North American educational institution,
- Agree to abide by the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws of the Association, and
- Submit an application along with the required annual student membership fee.
Student Members are welcome to participate in the Association’s activities and events but do not have voting rights in the General Assembly meetings or eligibility to run for office.
General Member ($40 per year):
A General Member is an individual who meets specific eligibility criteria and is committed to supporting the mission of the Association. To qualify, the applicant must:
- Reside in North America,
- Be of Bangladeshi origin or descent,
- Have formal education and/or experience in fields related to pharmaceuticals,
- Agree to abide by the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws of the Association, and
- Submit an application along with the required annual membership dues.
General Members are subject to approval by the Membership Committee. Once approved, they are entitled to vote in General Assembly meetings and participate in the election of Association officers.
Silver Member ($500 per year):
A Silver Member is an individual who meets all the qualifications of a General Member and opts for an extended membership with long-term benefits. To qualify, the applicant must:
- Reside in North America,
- Be of Bangladeshi origin or descent,
- Have formal education and/or experience in fields related to pharmaceuticals,
- Agree to abide by the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws of the Association, and
- Submit an application along with a one-time membership fee of $500.
Silver Membership is valid for 15 years and is subject to approval by the Membership Committee. Silver Members have the same rights and privileges as General Members, including voting rights in General Assembly meetings and participation in Association elections.
Gold Member ($1,000 per year):
A Gold Member is an individual who meets all the qualifications of a General Member and chooses to support the Association through a lifetime membership. To qualify, the applicant must:
- Reside in North America,
- Be of Bangladeshi origin or descent,
- Have formal education and/or experience in fields related to pharmaceuticals,
- Agree to abide by the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws of the Association, and
- Submit an application along with a one-time membership fee of $1000.
Gold Membership is valid for life and is subject to approval by the Membership Committee. Gold Members enjoy full rights and privileges of General Members, including voting rights in General Assembly meetings and participation in the election of Association officers, without the need to pay annual dues.
Honorary Member – No membership fee
An Honorary Member is a distinguished individual who has made significant contributions to pharmaceutical research, education, or industry, and who supports the mission and goals of the Association. To qualify:
- The individual must be recognized as a respected scholar or professional in the field of pharmaceuticals, regardless of nationality or residence,
- Must express a genuine interest in promoting the goals and objectives of the Association, and
- May be nominated and approved by the Executive Committee of the Association.
Honorary Members are not required to pay any membership fees. While they are welcome to participate in the Association’s activities and events, they do not have voting rights and cannot participate in the election process of the Association officers.
